Book-A-Librarian is a service that connects Rapid City Public Library cardholders with a librarian for one-on-one assistance with conducting research with library databases and resources, using the computer or Internet, or setting up tablets and eReader devices to use downloadables. Additionally, this form can also be used to request a storytime for your group based on availability of staffing.
Once the Book-A-Librarian form has been submitted, staff will review your request, assign a librarian, and contact you to confirm an appointment time.
We ask that all one-on-one assistance appointments must be made a minimum of three business days in advance of the desired appointment date, to ensure staff availability. Storytime requests must be received two weeks in advance.
Staff may not provide medical, legal, or investment advice, except to advise on reputable sources of information. Additionally, staff may not provide maintenance or troubleshooting on personal computers or electronics, set up laptops or devices, perform credit card transactions, or type documents.
Book-A-Librarian appointments may be scheduled Monday through Friday during library operating hours, as staff scheduling permits. Appointments are scheduled in thirty minute increments.
